University of Bath swimmers included in British Squad for 2014 Barcelona Mare Nostrum

A host of University of Bath-based swimmers will head to Spain next month to compete in the 2014 Barcelona Mare Nostrum. In the first major event since the British Gas Swimming Championships, Michael Jamieson, Siobhan-Marie O'Connor, Chris Walker-Hebborn and Andrew Willis are among a squad of more than 40 for the high-class two-day event from June 14-15. British Swimming head coach Bill Furniss said: "The calibre of the competition at Barcelona is expected to be high so this will be a good opportunity for our athletes to push themselves ahead of the summer competitions." The Mare Nostrum swimming circuit is made up of three meetings staged around the Mediterranean. Many of the athletes will also compete in earlier stages of the series in Monaco (June 7-8) and Canet, France (June 11-12). The British squad for the Mare Nostrum also includes Sophie Allen, Adam Barrett, Craig Benson, Adam Brown, Lewis Coleman, Georgia Davies, Eleanor Faulkner, Daniel Fogg, Jessica Fullalove, James Guy, Francesca Halsall, Robert Holderness, Calum Jarvis, Rachael Kelly, Max Litchfield, Jessica Lloyd, Danielle Lowe, Jemma Lowe, Caitlin McClatchley, Craig McNally, Hannah Miley, Stephen Milne, Ross Murdoch, Roberto Pavoni, Ben Proud, Lauren Quigley, Molly Renshaw, Robert Renwick, Joe Roebuck, Elena Sheridan, Elizabeth Simmonds, Amy Smith, Liam Tancock, Sophie Taylor, Rebecca Turner and Aimee Willmott.
