Adie Britton says Bath City can all but finish hosts Havant & Waterlooville's Skrill South play-off hopes with victory at Westleigh Park on Monday night (7.45pm). Sixth-placed City, who probably require a maximum haul of 21 points from their remaining seven league fixtures in order to extend their own season into May, will travel to Hampshire on the back of three successive wins. The latest was an action-packed 4-1 victory over Chelmsford City in front of a 1,374-strong crowd as Mayday Trust Park hosted the club's Community Day on Saturday. City fielded an attacking XI for that game but the likes of Adam Connolly, Joe Burnell and Noah Keats are all in line for recalls ahead of the clash with a Havant side who are six points worse off, albeit with as many games in hand. Director of football Britton said: "It will be tough, having two games in three days, but you have to say Havant have had an awful lot of games themselves in the last ten days. "They have a slightly bigger squad than us but we have been quite lucky in that we have been able to rest a few legs and should have three or four who can come in on Monday. "It will be about application, effort and workrate and a win there would probably put Havant out of it altogether. At the moment they are still in with a chance. "It is a big game, as is the Sutton one [away] next Saturday." City will be able to call on the services of keeper Jason Mellor, whose three-match ban for his sending-off against Chelmsford does not begin until next week. Mellor saw red following a 78th-minute clash with Chelmsford substitute Luke Callander, with midfielder Ben Adelsbury taking over between the posts for the closing stages. "In true Arsene Wenger mode, I didn't really see it," said Britton. "There was some pushing and shoving and someone has pushed the forward, who was equally aggressive. I didn't think it was Jason and thought it was another player, so I was a little bit surprised. "I obviously got it wrong. Often you have to see these things on DVD before you comment on them. On the subject of Mellor's possible replacement, Britton added: "We have a young lad in the Development Squad who is improving all the time. Whether or not he is ready for this level, I'm not quite sure. It might be that, with the deadline on Thursday, we try and get a keeper in until the end of the season. "At this stage, league clubs' under-21s have generally stopped playing and most carry three keepers. There might be one who is available so I will be on the phone to see what we can do. It is just about finances and being able to afford it." Britton was delighted that his side were able to put on a show for Saturday's bumper gate, who were able to cheer goals from Adelsbury, Ross Stearn, Andy Watkins and Dave Pratt as City overcame Chris Allen's failure to beat Chelmsford's Tommy Forecast from the penalty spot on then minutes. "I think it is the Chelmsford factor," he said "We've had some pretty amazing games against them over the years and that was another one. "The most important thing for me was that a really good crowd turned up and sometimes in the past when we've had that we haven't entertained or done ourselves justice. If nothing else, it was a spectacle – there were goals, incidents and good football and I think throughout we showed a really good attitude. "We were certainly up for it and had a good workrate, tenacity and passed the ball well. We should have been comfortably ahead at half-time but we did put it away in the second half. It was a disciplined performance on the whole and a deserved result."
