Physics has been the subject of the day in Bath.
Scientists and those with a passion for the topic have been taking part in a Festival of Physics.
Organised by the Institute of Physics South West Branch more than 100 people attended the day, held at the Assembly Rooms, to hear talks on photonics – the physics of light.
Students from Badminton School in Bristol were also at the festival giving a demonstration using liquid hydrogen.
Regional officer for the Institute of Physics, Miranda Addey, said the event was about celebrating physics and attracting people to the science.
"This is the first time for a while we've come to Bath for the festival. It's an annual event but it's good to come together and hear different ideas."
