An elderly man was tricked into paying two men £500 for "minimal" gardening work during an incident in Keynsham.
The victim was visited at his home in the north of the town, off Bristol Road and the High Street, at around midday on Saturday, February 8.
Two men managed to persuade him to pay them £500 to do a small amount of work in his garden.
The incident has only recently been reported to the police by a relative of the victim.
One of the men is described as white, in his mid-50s, 5ft 10ins tall with a slim build and dark hair.
He was wearing a dark blue overall.
The other was also white, in his mid-30s, 5ft 6ins tall with a medium build.
He was wearing a red high-visibility jacket.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw these people in the area at the time or who were also visited at home by these men.
