Bath Rugby fly-half George Ford is set to make his England debut on Saturday after being confirmed in the matchday squad to face Ireland in the RBS 6 Nations.
The 20-year-old has replaced Brad Barritt in the 23-man squad for the match at Twickenham and features alongside club-mates Davey Wilson and Dave Attwood.
The starting XV will be announced on Thursday, with Ford expected to be named amongst the replacements and Owen Farrell again starting in the number ten jersey for Stuart Lancaster's side.
Ford was promoted to the England EPS squad ahead of the championship, replacing France-bound fly-half Toby Flood. The youngster was part of the travelling squad for England's tournament opener away against France but has yet to play for the national side.
England head coach Lancaster said: "We feel that the time is right to include George Ford in the matchday squad.
"A full three weeks of training has allowed him the chance to really understand the way we are developing our game and this time has been crucial in order for him to feel confident and ready in a key decision making and leadership position.
"We have successfully integrated and included many young players over the last two years and George is the next exciting talent to make his mark in the senior squad and we are a looking forward to see him develop over the next few months.
"Brad Barritt is obviously disappointed to miss out but he is still a key member of our squad and I am sure he will get further opportunities in the future. He hasn't had much game time since his injury and will benefit from some time with Saracens over the next two weeks."
Earlier this week, head coach Lancaster confirmed Bath prop Wilson will start at tighthead against Ireland in the absence of Dan Cole, who will miss the remainder of the championship with a neck injury.
Lock Attwood has been on the bench for both of England's matches in the tournament so far and is expected to be amongst the replacements again this weekend.
Bath centre Kyle Eastmond and full-back Anthony Watson are among the ten players being released from the Red Rose camp back to their clubs.
