A cult game app has got everyone in a flap - after it was removed from use.
The popularity of Flappy Bird had been sweeping the iphone market and this reached fever pitch when creator Dong Nguyen removed it last weekend.
This led to one Bath chef putting his iphone 5s, which had Flappy Bird, on ebay and he accepted an offer of £153,600 after receiving 77 bids and 30 views a second.
Chef Ryan Blackman, from Oldfield Park, said: "I put it up for a joke and the bid is obviously a spoof - although I'm checking my PalPal account."
But has Flappy Bird been ruffling feathers in Bath? Students from City of Bath College went to find out.
"The game is pointless, it has been done before," was the verdict of Chris Dennis, 19.
And Flappy Bird didn't seem to impress another teenager, Jamie Hammond, 18.
"It's not a world phenomenon."
Chris also dismissed the ebay interest. "It's clearly a hoax," he said. I wouldn't pay that much money for the best game."
Jamie agreed: "They don't deserve that much for a free game."
But all may not be lost for fans of Flappy Bird, with Nguyen himself hinting at a possible sequel.
The advances in technology in the past ten years has seen an explosion in highly-addictive gaming apps, although Flappy Bird and its predecessor Angry Bird have yet to convince the general public.
