Bath Rugby are remaining tight-lipped over speculation linking them with a move for rugby league superstar Sam Burgess. On Thursday, reports emerged that the 25-year-old England forward is keen on a cross-code switch to union, with the chance of being fast-tracked into the national side for the 2015 World Cup. Burgess is under contract with South Sydney Rabbitohs Rabbitohs until 2016 and a transfer fee – thought to be in the region of £500,000 – would be required to secure his services. Bath are rumoured to be Burgess' preferred destination but following their 24-6 victory over Newcastle Falcons today, head coach Mike Ford said no deal had been agreed to bring Burgess to The Rec. Ford said: "Recruitment is always ongoing, we never ever stop. "Even when our squad is signed for this year, we'll be looking at players and making notes about recruitment next year. It's always ongoing. "We are not going to mention anybody until ink is signed on the paper. That's all I can say. There's nothing to announce, because nobody has signed. "Everybody knows who Sam Burgess is. He's a very good rugby league player."
