Brothers from Bath who have been touring Europe with their band have returned to their home city for an intimate gig with fans.
The three members of The Family Rain played for half an hour for fans at Bath's HMV store this afternoon.
Ollie, Tim and Will Walters, who grew up in Oldfield Park, also signed copies of their first album, Under the Volcano, which was released this week.
The former Beechen Cliff students still consider Bath their home and live with their parents in their family home when they are back in the city.
Bath has also featured heavily in several of the band's videos. For the groups song Trust Me I'm a Genius they are filmed running through the streets of Oldfield Park.
Ollie said: "We do really like living here. When we go to other places around the country we realise how aesthetically pleasing Bath is."
Will added: "We want to come across as that band from Bath. We are from here and we are proud of that. It's quite a refreshing thing because no one else is from Bath. It's not like Manchester where there are lots of bands and a massive music scene. We want to help start something and slap Bath on the map."
Speaking before the HMV gig the band said they were looking forward to seeing their Bath fans and playing for them.
Ollie said despite touring with the likes of the Rolling Stones the smaller gigs allowed them to stretch their performance.
"These record store events work really well. People like to see and hear bands in different environments and we get to chat with people afterwards."
Their new album has been described by NME as one to look forward to in 2014 and the lads are not fazed by comparisons to the Kings of Leon.
Tim said they were flattered.
"When you start off as an artist this happens because people want to find a way to describe you but the more you stick around we will create our own identity."
The brothers said it was not always easy being in a band together but the relationship provided a safer environment to be creative and experiment with different sounds.
Ollie said: "Over the last couple of years when everyone else decided to get better jobs we were the deluded ones who stayed focused on the music."
Tim said: "It allows us to be more honest and experiment so we can push ourselves and learn different styles.
"What we are creating is all of our favourite influences, favourite artists put into one elastic band ball and thrown down a street."
As well as promoting Under the Volcano, The Family Rain plan to appear at various festivals later in the year.
