A Bristol man appeared in court accused of possessing nearly 200 indecent images of young girls. Vincent Tabak, 35, faces two charges of making indecent images of children and four offences of possession of indecent images. At a hearing yesterday at Bristol Magistrates' Court, in which Tabak appeared via video link from HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire, his lawyer Nick Kelcey indicated not guilty pleas would be entered. Dutch-born Tabak, who previously lived in Canynge Road, Clifton, did not enter a formal plea. Tabak, wearing a charcoal-coloured fleece, sat at a table with a large notebook and pen, and said nothing during the four-minute hearing other than to confirm his name and date of birth. Magistrates sent the case to Bristol Crown Court. The images in question are alleged to have been found on his Dell laptop computer in 2011. Charges, spanning from January 2009 to January 2011, relate to his computer activities in Bristol barring one accusation relating to Bath in April, 2009. He is accused of possessing images between January 1, 2009, and January 5, 2011, which were found on his Dell laptop. Tabak is also accused of making 23 level one images on April 23, 2009, and 23 level one images on July 29, 2009. Vera Kudlac, prosecuting, said: "They are specimen charges which go back to January 2011."
