Bath Rugby set to name full-strength side against Bordeaux in bid to secure Amlin Cup top seeding

Bath Rugby are expected to name a full-strength side for Thursday night's Amlin Cup clash at home to Bordeaux in order to secure top seeding for the quarter-finals. Bath round off their Pool 2 campaign when the Top 14 outfit visit The Rec (7.45pm). They have won all five group games so far but are likely to need a bonus-point win if they are to be seeded first for the last-eight draw and therefore avoid the teams dropping down from the Heineken Cup. Mike Ford's side are in pole position for the top ranking having secured 23 points from a possible 25 so far. Wasps have 22 points but finish the group phase with a much easier contest as they entertain Italian side Viadana on Sunday. "We've set ourselves targets along the way and one of those is to get a home quarter-final," said head coach Ford. "We're in a position where if we can get four tries and a bonus-point win we can be number one seeds. We're putting pressure on ourselves to achieve that, like we did last year. "We understand what we have to do. We understand if we take these guys lightly, whatever sort of team they turn out, we will struggle."
