Bath's Christmas Market entered its last day today and organisers say it has been the best yet, with around 370,000 visitors to the site.
Crowds thronged the city's streets this weekend as the market's 150 stalls brought festive cheer and an opportunity to support local retailers.
Event organiser Bath Tourism Plus estimates 2013's market has brought in more than £20million to the local economy, with more than £13million of that being spent beyond the market in the city's shops and businesses.
Nick Brooks-Sykes, Chief Executive of Bath Tourism Plus said: "Feedback from stall holders and visitors confirms that this year's Christmas market has been the best ever. Visitors have been delighted with the Christmas shopping offer which Bath provides across the city.
"Through a massive team effort, we have delivered a market which celebrates British businesses, craftsmanship and quality. Lots of new traders, combined with a bigger layout to ease the flow of visitors, and a more even spread of mid week and weekend visits, mean that many businesses have had one of their best ever years' trading. Through our introduction of 'incubator units', we have supported many local small businesses with the intention that this provides a 'leg up' as they go on to grow.
"The market also has a massive impact on the wider economy of the City, with the benefits being felt by restaurants, shops and accommodation providers across Bath."
