Bus operator First has published its plans for services over the Christmas and New Year period, with Boxing Day services for the first time in Bristol.
The company will not be running any buses in Bath on December 26, however.
During Christmas and New Year many buses will operate to holiday schedules, which the firm says reflects "the changing demand for services while many people are off work."
Managing director for First in Bristol, Paul Matthews, said: "Our Christmas timetable is designed to reflect the demand for travel over the festive period. Generally speaking less people travel during Christmas week as many take time off work. We do see an increase in leisure travellers though – ie those wanting to go and see friends and family or go shopping – at certain times. To reflect this we adjust the timetables, running Saturday timetables where it's appropriate too."

In broad terms, the Bath arrangements are:
Sunday December 22: Normal Sunday services
Monday December 23: Normal Monday – Friday timetable
Christmas Eve: Normal Monday – Friday timetable; on Service 339 the midnight and 1am departures from Bath and 1am and 2am from Bristol will not operate
Christmas Day: No Services
Boxing Day: No Services
Friday December 27: Saturday timetables will operate on all services, with the exception of the Wessex Water Bus and Service 30 which will operate according to normal Monday – Friday timetables
Saturday December 28: Normal Saturday services
Sunday December 29: Normal Sunday services
Monday December 30: Saturday timetables will operate on all services, with the exception of the Wessex Water Bus and Service 30 which will operate according to normal Monday – Friday timetables
New Year's Eve: Saturday timetables will operate on all services, with the exception of the Wessex Water Bus and Service 30 which will operate according to normal Monday – Friday timetables. Last buses between Bath and Bristol will be 1am from Bath Bus Station to Bristol Bus Station and 2am from Bristol Bus Station to Bath Bus Station.
New Year's Day: A Sunday service will operate on services 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 13, 14, 15, 18, 177/178, 179. No buses will operate on any other services.
