People in Bath are being given the chance to quiz the area's two top police chiefs. Avon and Somerset Police's chief constable Nick Gargan and police and crime commissioner Sue Mountstevens will be hosting a public forum at the Guildhall next Wednesday. The aim is to give residents a chance to meet them and ask any questions they have about policing in the local area. Mr Gargan, who was appointed at the beginning of the year, said: "I've met the officers and police staff working to keep B&NES safe. "Now I'm eager to hear what local people think. "What's your view on the service we provide? What do you think our local policing priorities should be?" He added that he understood not everyone would be able to make the event, so urged others to submit their questions in advance. The session will also include an overview of policing in B&NES by area commander Chief Superintendent Geoff Spicer. Ms Mountstevens said she always enjoyed the opportunity to meet with residents and talk to them first-hand about the issues which mattered to them. She said: "I regularly visit B&NES and I am looking forward to the opportunity of hearing directly from residents on their views on local policing. "These forums provide the perfect opportunity for me to engage with the local community and find out what they think about how their area is policed. "I strongly welcome residents to come along and share their thoughts." If you have any questions you would like to ask you can send them in advance by emailing pcc@avonandsomerset.pnn.police.uk. It is recommended that you do this if you have a question that might need some research, for example, regarding a specific issue in your area. The forum will be held at the Guildhall between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday, November 27. To make sure a seat is reserved for you email pcc@avonandsomerset.pnn.police.uk or call 01275 816377.
