Unemployed young people in Bath are being given the chance to take part in a course aimed at giving them the skills and confidence to get a job.
The three-week course, called Experience Film, is part of The Co-operative Foundation's Truth about Youth Programme, run by youth charity The Prince's Trust.
The course aims to challenge negative perceptions of young people, while giving them work-based skills training and the opportunity to work on a community project.
The young people will work with production company Forest Lane to research, write and create a short film which will be screened to an invited audience at the Odeon cinema in Bath at the end of the course.
During the project they will spend time with community groups in Bath and the final film will look at attitudes and highlight the positive contribution that young people make to society.
Following the course the young people will be offered ongoing support for three months to help them find a job or further training.
The course is open to unemployed 16 to 25-year-olds and will take place from Monday, September 16, to Friday, October 4, with a taster day next Tuesday. Transport will be paid for.
Young people should call or text Annette Johns on 07538 936145 or e-mail annette.johns@princes-trust.org. uk to find out more.
