The campaign to reopen a Bath swimming pool has captured the imagination of schoolchildren from across the city.

They have been drawing pictures to support the drive to revive the Cleveland Pools.

A display was held at Bath Central Library to showcase 94 pictures drawn by local youngsters. Organisers aimed to highlight the campaign and emphasise children are the future.

Some £3 million is needed to transform the 19th-century complex at Bathwick.

An appeal is being mounted by the Prince's Regeneration Trust in collaboration with the Cleveland Pool Trust.

Campaigners hope £300,000 will come from public donations, with the other funding coming from grants from the likes of English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The artwork can be viewed at www.clevelandpools.org.uk.

A number of open sessions are being held to give people the chance to view the pools and get behind the campaign as part of the national Heritage Open Days initiative.

They take place on Friday 13, Saturday 14, and Sunday 15 September, at the pools at the end of Beckford Gardens on the Bathwick estate.

People are welcome to visit between 2pm and 5pm.

Women are asked to wear flat shoes, children must be accompanied and dogs must be on leads.
