Old queens, magic flutes, Spitfires, penny farthing bicycles, cross dressing and Gothic horror are all to be found in the new fun-packed programme for the Rondo Theatre's autumn and winter season.

There is music, theatre, comedy and special shows for the run up to the festive season.

As always comedy plays a big part in the new programme which opens next Thursday, September 12, with comic Steve Hughes and the fun doesn't stop until Christmas when Butterfly Psyche performs the seasonal offering of The Bluebird.

In between are plays about the late Queen Mother's fictitious steward, a new offering from the producers of the hit musical The Decent Rogues, a musical about the man who developed the printing press and the story of Henry VIII and his wives all played by two actors, and Tales From The Shadows sees Edgar Allan Poe's most terrifying characters brought to life on the stage.

Alex Horne describes seven years in the bathroom, celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dr Who with My Stepson Stole My Sonic Screwdriver and there is a new take on Mozart's Magic Flute – all highlights in what is set to be a spectacular season.

See next week's The Guide for a more detailed look at the new programme.
