Rob Webber says Friday night's pre-season defeat at Newport Gwent Dragons has shown Bath Rugby they need to have more of a cutting edge in the final third of the field.
The visitors had plenty of territory and possession in the second half at Rodney Parade but had just a converted try and penalty to show for their efforts.
Dragons, meanwhile, rarely threatened the Bath tryline but five successful kicks saw them turn a 10-7 half-time deficit into a 22-20 victory.
Gary Gold's side still had the chance to snatch the win with the final kick of the match but Tom Heathcote saw a penalty drift agonisingly wide of the posts.
"We are disappointed as we play to win and we had a shot to win it at the end, so it's frustrating," said England hooker Webber, who scored a first-half try at Rodney Parade.
"As a team we probably need to be a bit more clinical. We had two try-scoring opportunities which weren't taken just after half-time and we got the ball over the line but it wasn't given, so we need to be a bit more accurate there.
"It was unlucky for Tom not to get the kick but I think we can take a huge amount of positives from the game.
"Tom will be disappointed with himself but we will all say unlucky and that it happens. Any other day he would have knocked it over, so it's not a big deal.
"It's unlucky for Tom but we'll pat him on the back and move on to the next one."
A powerful performance from Bath's pack provided Webber with some consolation from the match but that could not cover up the fact there is still plenty to work on at the club's Farleigh House HQ before the new Aviva Premiership campaign.
And the five-cap international is hoping they can iron out any creases in their final pre-season contest against Ospreys at The Rec on Friday night.
"In some areas we were better this week than last week," added Webber. "Our pack were very, very dominant, with scrum and lineout drives and mauls – we give ourselves a huge amount of credit for that.
"Our scrum kicked on another gear, there wasn't much drop off. I don't think we got as much reward as we should have done from the scrum but that's one of the things you have to deal with in the game.
"On the whole our defence was pretty good as well – we'll take a lot from that as we are still building.
"Some things weren't quite so good but that's the nature of rugby from week to week.
"We've got another pre-season game to go against tough opposition again. We'll do our analysis, get some advice from the coaches, look at it as a player group and come back and hopefully right those few little wrongs against Ospreys."
