I am writing to say I fully support Ms Lin Patterson in her staged sit-in in Twerton's public conveniences threatened with closure (Chronicle - Thursday August 15). With many families with small children and as many older people with health conditions, closing public toilets would no doubt create problems as well as having a detrimental effect on Bath's tourist trade.
Denying people a basic human right in the 21st century seems ludicrous as well as inhuman.
So let's hope the decision to close all public toilets does not happen unless the council want a bigger problem with everyone from small children to the elderly using the streets to answer the call of nature.
