Here is a great idea for helping feed people in Bath who don't have food. Ever heard of coffee suspending?
Basically a couple went into a coffee shop in America and witnessed just that. The man in front of them asked for one coffee for him and three to be suspended. Having asked the waiter about it, the waiter said "Just watch and you will find out".
Another customer came in and did exactly the same. About 20 minutes later, a homeless man walked in and asked the waiter if there were any suspended coffees available. The waiter poured him a coffee and the homeless man enjoyed probably his first proper hot beverage for a number of days.
Why can't we do something like this in Bath? The idea was first thought up in Naples in Italy. This would mean there would be a fewer number of people begging for money on our streets.
Maybe Matty's Cafe could give it a test run or even Starbucks, Cafe Nero ad Costa as they are based in the city centre. If coffees or sandwiches were not picked up at the end of their opening hours then they could donate them to the nearest homeless shelter.
