MEP Sir Graham Watson sets sights on fifth term

An MEP who went to school in Bath is seeking re-election to the European Parliament for the fifth term.

Sir Graham Watson, a former pupil at the old City of Bath Boys' School, is leading the Liberal Democrat list for the 2014 European elections.

He is joined by another representative from Bath, businessman Jay Risbridger, who ran for the Abbey seat in the Bath and North East Somerset Council elections two years ago.

Sir Graham has been an MEP since 1994 and said he hoped he would be able to continue to fight for the South West in Europe.

Mr Risbridger runs the Green Stationery Company, in Walcot Street, and is a dedicated environmental campaigner.

The other four on the Liberal Democrat list are West Somerset farmer Kay Barnard, Brian Matthew, Andrew Wigley and Lyana Armstrong-Emery, who was chosen by the Gibraltar Liberal Party.

University of Bath graduate Hadleigh Roberts has been selected as one of the South West Labour candidates.
