Bath Rugby has announced it is going back to its historic hooped design for next season's shirt.

For generations the club's players and supporters have proudly worn the famous blue, black and white hoops across their chests.

And now the iconic jersey has returned once again.

The 2013/14 kit has been unveiled today and Bath Rugby has welcomed on board Tri Distribution as the official kit supplier and producer.

Tri Distribution work with several apparel brands, and are the manufacturers of both the RFU and SA Rugby's casual wear range.

Bath Rugby chief executive Nick Blofeld welcomed the design and said he hoped fans would be happy with the new look.

He said: "We are very pleased to be back in the blue, black and white hoops.

"The supporters love them, and so do the players, and we are delighted to be working with Tri Distribution for this season.

"We decided not to use an official kit sponsor as, despite having a variety of options, we wanted to really own our jersey and to have absolute control over the kit we offered our supporters."

The strip was unveiled by 28-year-old wing Tom Biggs, who had his torso painted with the new design as part of a photo shoot at the club's Farleigh House for the Chronicle.

It will be worn for the first time by players at a local derby match against Bristol, which is taking place at the Rec on August 17.

Supporters can buy the new shirt by going to www.bathrugbyshop.com or calling 01225 311950.
