Readers have been naming their favourite watering holes in a competition to find the best pub in Bath.
Nominations have been arriving from readers for the Chronicle contest, with suggestions as to which local does the best pint, has the best atmosphere, or the friendliest staff. The Trinity Inn, at James Street West was nominated by someone who praised the lovely food, music and selection of events.
One reader described The Volunteer Rifleman's Arms on New Bond St Place as 'the friendliest pub I've ever visited. It's an old fashioned, small place where people enjoy others' company.'
Staff at The Royal Oak in Widcombe were praised for their 'warm and friendly welcome and yummy home-made food.'
The deadline for nominations is Monday, so there is still time to put in a good word for one of the scores of pubs in the city.
The competition is all about celebrating the diverse pub scene in the city.
Readers can nominate their favourite pub by filling out the form in our Chronicle2 section or e-mailing the nominated pub's details and why they think it should win to promotions@bathchron.co.uk before Monday.
All nominations will be featured in the Chronicle next week, when people will be able to vote via slips in the paper.
The pub with the most votes will be crowned Bath's number one, and will receive a certificate and coverage in the Chronicle.
