A Bath museum has held a party for its volunteers to thank them for their hard work.
To mark National Volunteer Week the Holburne Museum threw a celebration for its 250 volunteers.
Volunteer manager Spencer Hancock said they had recently had a good response to an appeal for more people to give up their time and help the museum.
He said: "The task of recruiting enough volunteers to work with our small core team of staff to cover all areas of the museum's activity seemed daunting at first, but we have been overwhelmed by the positive response that we have had.
"We have recruited volunteers of all ages and from a variety of past experiences and every single volunteer makes a positive contribution to life at the museum."
He added: "We are happy to admit that the Holburne just wouldn't work without the donation of time and energy given by our amazing volunteer team."
Bob White is celebrating his first year of being a volunteer at the Holburne.
He took early retirement from his job as a plasterer after injury, and has enjoyed spending his free time volunteering.
He said: "I'm a great talker and I love meeting people, history and learning.
"I'm able to indulge all of these interests in my volunteer role at the museum."
Bob Chippendale has been at the museum since it re-opened two years ago.
He said he had enjoyed every moment, especially spending time in the picture gallery.
He said: "As a volunteer the Holburne makes me feel wanted and appreciated. Everything that I contribute I get back. It is a very mutually beneficial relationship."
The Holburne's education department is looking for people to help with art workshops, tours and events.
