Pupils at a special needs school have taken delivery of a new 17-seat minibus which was partially paid for by prize money from the Chronicle's Wish campaign.
Three Ways School, in Frome Road, Odd Down, has bought the Variety Club Sunshine coach, which is fully wheelchair accessible with a tail-lift and removable seats.
It will replace the old bus, which has been used daily for the past 15 years and has started to fall apart.
Head of primary Ben Edwards said the new vehicle would be used to transport pupils to a range of activities and events, including horse riding, swimming trips and extra-curricular classes.
He said: "The new minibus will help us offer more opportunities for classrooms without walls.
"It will open up access to more learning environments and give life enriching experiences to our young people."
The school has been able to pay for the minibus thanks to £3,000 from The Bath Chronicle and BMI Bath Clinic's Wish campaign.
There was also money and support from the National Lottery Awards for All, the school's parents, teachers and friends association, The John Cowan Foundation and the children's charity Variety.
Three Ways head teacher Julie Dyer thanked everyone for their involvement and said the fundraising had been a real community effort.
She said: "It is amazing to have raised over £17,000 for the new minibus.
"The old one has been unreliable and expensive, with children missing outings.
"It will be wonderful to have this new fully adaptable bus.
"And we know teachers will be using it at every available opportunity."
