The chance to cause havoc on one of the biggest pitches in the Football League convinced former Bath City striker Kaid Mohamed to make the move from Cheltenham Town to Port Vale.
Mohamed turned down the offer of a new Robins deal to pen a two-year contract with Vale, spurning interest from two other League One clubs to join Micky Adams' men.
Oldham Athletic and play-off winners Bradford City were also interested in signing the Welsh winger, with League Two club Portsmouth also interested in Mohamed's services.
But after being impressed by Adams' attacking intent, Mohamed said he couldn't wait to get started at Vale after agreeing a two-year contract.
He said: "I like the gaffer, I like what he has done in the past. I knew he liked me and Port Vale are moving on and pushing from last season.
"Last season Vale were flying, they were at the top of the league all through the season and I am looking forward to joining them."
Mohamed will replace another former Robins wideman at Vale Park next season after Ashley Vincent turned down the offer of a two-year deal to stay in Burslem.
Mohamed looks set to be joined at Vale Park next term by former Cheltenham Town team-mate Darren Carter.
Midfield schemer Carter was released by Robins boss Mark Yates at the end of last season and looks set to turn down offers from two other League One clubs to sign for Vale.
Callum Rice and Gary Hooper have stepped down from their roles as directors at Swindon Town.
Along with current chairman Jed McCrory and general manager Steve Murrall, Rice and Hooper came into the club following the takeover by Seebeck 87 Limited which was completed in February.
Following the initial transition period the pair have been spending less and less time at the County Ground in recent weeks, and have now returned to concentrate on their own outside business interests. Rice owns a hotel in Lincolnshire, while Hooper is still likely to be aiding the club despite concentrating on his sports consultancy business.
