Hilton in the Community Foundation donates £17k for Wizzybugs

Staff at a Bath hotel have handed over £17,000 to a city charity which is a lifeline for disabled children.

The Bath Institute of Medical Engineering was presented with a cheque for £17,000 from the Hilton in the Community Foundation, which will fund four Wizzybug powered wheelchairs for disabled children under the age of five.

The independent charity based at the Royal United Hospital works to improve the quality of life of children and adults with disabilities and healthcare problems through the use of technology.

Each Wizzybug is loaned out at least three times by the charity.

The presentation took place at the Hilton Bath City Hotel in Walcot Street. The foundation brings in money through fundraising by its staff, guests and suppliers.
