Fire crews put out a blaze at Bath bar and restaurant Banglo early this morning.
The building in Lower Bristol Road was well alight when crews arrived at just before 3am.
There was no one on the premises when they got there and they used jets and thermal imaging cameras as they tackled the incident.
Twelve firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were involved.
Avon Fire and Rescue staff will inspect the scene again today and launch an investigation into its cause.
The two-year-old family-run business had been due to be relaunched in July principally as a venue to hire for events and parties, as well as hosting its own events.
