A new annual pass has been introduced at Bath's civic art gallery after charges were brought in for visiting exhibitions.
Council chiefs began a new policy of charging for temporary exhibitions at the Victoria Art Gallery to help balance their books in April.
The charges have come in after the completion of work on the gallery's layout pass, with a new large temporary gallery having more room to host bigger exhibitions.
The £10 pass allows entry to all temporary exhibitions for a year.
Bath and North East Somerset Council leader Councillor Paul Crossley (Lib Dem, Southdown) said: "Our frequent local visitors appreciate that this offers great value for money, as the council strives to protect frontline services and still offer everyone a range of opportunities to enjoy culture."
The gallery's permanent collection remains free to view.
Hundreds of ceramics and glassware from Georgian and Victorian times are also always on display in an open storage area.
Tickets for single visits to the temporary exhibition gallery are available from £2 to £3.50, depending on the exhibition, and will always be available on the day.
Children under 16 have free entrance to all parts of the building while Art Fund members receive a discount.
Members of the Friends of the Victoria Art Gallery group can buy the annual pass for £8.
The gallery, near Pulteney Bridge, is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, Sundays 1.30pm to 5pm but closed on Mondays.
