Singer Gabrielle Aplin was today celebrating the success of her first debut album as it took the download charts by storm. The 20-year-old former City of Bath College student was at numbers two and three in the UK download charts this morning, with the conventional and deluxe versions of her album English Rain. The album contains her Christmas number one The Power of Love, as well as hits Home and Please Don't Say You Love Me. Last night she tweeted: "Oh my god. It's been out 5 minutes and the amount of love on here is incredible. I'm genuinely overwhelmed thank you so much! x" Aplin, who went to school in Chippenham and whose family live at Sutton Benger, has been posting music online for six years, and had her big break when she signed to Parlophone last year. In an interview with The Telegraph, she said: "It was really just a hobby, and then it became something more. "I write songs and I sing them. I never formulated a plan, I can't tell anyone else how to do this. But it feels right, so I just kind of enjoy it and get on with it."
