Bath football star Scott Sinclair is having treatment in hospital after suffering a blood clot in his shoulder.
The Manchester City winger – a former Ralph Allen schoolboy whose parents live in Englishcombe - was taken ill during training on Friday and was ruled out of his side's 0-0 draw at former club Swansea in the Barclays Premier League this afternoon.
City manager Roberto Mancini said: "Scott had a problem [on Friday]. I don't think it is a bad situation and it is under control."
The club expect to learn more about Sinclair's condition over the next couple of days but it may deny him the chance to face Wigan in the FA Cup final on May 11.
He moved to the Etihad last summer for £6.2m but his future with the 2011-12 champions is in doubt due to a lack of first-team opportunities.
