The 11th Bath League de Petanque (French boules) season will begin on Tuesday, May 7 in Queen Square (6pm start).
Teams of three, with an unlimited squad size, are invited to enter the tournament, with matches held fortnightly until early September.
Local law firm Withy King will be the principal sponsor of the event this year, with further backing coming from Small Business Focus and Bath Business Womens' Association.
Last season saw 46 teams involved in hot competition over the long summer season, which culminated in previous champions The Good, The Bad and The Ugly fighting off a strong field of challengers to regain the title.
The annual event bases its popularity and success on offering local businesses the opportunity to engage within an informal networking situation, at the same time as participating in a highly competitive but enjoyable sports tournament.
Anyone can raise a team and will be made welcome to join in the fun and benefit from getting involved.
