Political activist Bruce Kent visited Bath as part of his bid to highlight the wasteful spending on the Trident missile system.
Mr Kent is visiting places across the UK with his Scrap Trident Tour, and is spreading the word about the wasteful spending on Trident when so much investment is needed to eradicate poverty, and make our world a safer and more peaceful place to live.
As part of his visit to Bath he joined the Bath Stop War Coalition for a peace vigil outside Bath Abbey.
Mr Kent believes that continuing to maintain and add to the trident missile system is wrong.
He said: "It is absolute lunacy to spend 100 billion on making nuclear weapons.
"It is an awful lot of money, which is being diverted away from more useful expenditure.
"People have been very receptive on my tour, and are interested to hear what I have to say.
"Most are against spending the money, and I have only spoken to one or two people who think it is a good idea."
